Quinta de la Rosa sits on the EM590 at Gouvães do Douro, near Pinhão. It is a working estate that makes both Port and Douro table wines, and its visits are priced for people who want to see a quinta properly without paying lodge-museum prices.

At €25, the standard tour and tasting is a guided visit for about the price of a self-guided one elsewhere: Croft’s self-guided tour with a tasting at Quinta da Roêda is €27. Guided tours run in English and Portuguese, and private tours can be arranged in other languages on request.
If you have a morning to spare, the estate also points visitors to an easy walk of 25 to 30 minutes to Val do Inferno. Walking the vineyard before the €140 Vale do Inferno tour, or instead of it, gives you a feel for how steep Douro terraces really are.

The Passagem wines are the estate’s Douro table wines, which makes La Rosa a good stop for a group where not everyone wants fortified wine.
Eating
